This 17th-century farmhouse has been recently restored by the present generation of a long line of descendants. It is set in the beautiful Normandy countryside and enjoys rural views, with lovely walks and cycle paths straight from your doorstep. It is superbly located just 1 km from the sought-after town of Arromanches with its famous D-Day landing beaches and museums; this farmhouse was one of many in the area which were occupied by the Germans for a time during World War II. The medieval town of Bayeux, with its famous tapestry and cathedral, is within 30 minutes' drive, not forgetting the enchanting abbey at Mont St Michel, which is also within easy reach.
The owners have ensured that the original features are preserved, such as stone walls and large rooms with high beamed ceilings. In keeping with its character, the house has been furnished with antiques. The imposing living and dining rooms are ideal for relaxation, and the splendid fireplace would create a cosy atmosphere on chilly evenings out of season. The well-equipped fitted kitchen leads onto a pretty, south-facing terrace and barbecue area with pleasant views. The original uneven stone stairs lead up to the first floor where there are two bedrooms, one of which is ideal for a group of children.
