Chamonix is known primarily to North Americans for its skiing, though the area is not limited solely to that sport. In the area there are six separate skiing areas, which are all accessible with the same ski pass. But it is the summer when Chamonix is the most visited for its breathtaking scenery; accessible by mountain walking and hiking trails, and all levels of climbing assents.
