Property Description
This XVth century restored Château is located in the hamlet of Detilly, 10 minutes from Chinon, in the center of the Loire-Anjou-Touraine national park. The area is well known for its fine wines and agriculture and is frequently referred to as the “Garden of France”.
The Chateau has 8 bedrooms 8 bathrooms (the top floor Apartment of 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms can be rented separately)
The coach house 3 bedroom 2 bathroom and has a kitchen/dining area with a fully furnished conservatory.
The swimming pool 23' x 49' with WC
There is a restored Chapel on the grounds suitable for a wedding ceremony.
Château (sleeps 9)
The ground floor comprises of a salon, library/cardroom, TV room, study, hall, dining and breakfast rooms with kitchen all with 2' ceilings and long windows
satellite TV / VCR which accepts US, British and French formatted tapes.
study, fax machine, printer, telephone answering machine and dedicated internet line. The study has a single sofa bed. there is a separate WC and a separate white tiled bathroom and shower.
an elegant dining room seats up to 16 guests while the Breakfast Room can seat up to 14.
The kitchen has an open fireplace with a rotating spit, La Cornue stove, a griddle and two ovens, two dishwashers, a microwave oven, and a refrigerator. In the pantry are two more refrigerators, a clothes washing machine and dryer to supplement the laundry room in the Orangery. Just off the kitchen is a WC
There are 8 bedrooms in the chateau; four are on the bedroom floor and four on the upper floor.
The mid-level bedroom floor is approached either via the grand staircase from the entry hall (the owners request that young children do not use this staircase), or by wood circular staircase to both upper levels. On a landing halfway up the main staircase is an WC.
The first bedroom has a canopied super king-size (6'8" square) bed, and en-suite bath with twin basins and bathtub with shower attachment and a WC.
The second bedroom has a US king-size bed, there is a separate dressing room. En-suite oversized bathtub has a shower attachment. There is a WC and a bidet.
The third bedroom has a queen-size (British king size) sleigh bed and en-suite bath with fireplace, a dressing room and marble shower room which includes a WC and a bidet. french doors to a small balcony overlooking the rose garden.
The fourth bedroom has a canopied super king-size (6'8" square) bed, carved marble fireplace and ornate ceiling. The en-suite bath with tub and overhead shower has a bidet. The WC is separate. French doors open onto a small balcony overlooking the rose garden.
Château Top Floor (Apartment) (sleeps 8)
A circular stairway leads from the hall on the ground floor or from the bedroom floor to the apartment.
It is possible to close the inter-communicating doors so that the top floor is a self contained unit
there is a fully equipped kitchen and has a large sofa, armchairs and coffee table as well as satellite TV and VCR player. There is a stereo/CD player and a telephone for calling throughout the property.
The area houses the recreational facilities including snooker, darts, table soccer and a selection of board games
The fifth bedroom is situated in the tower between the bedroom floor and the top floor. It has a canopied super king-sized (6'8"square) four poster bed with a large fireplace. There are steps up to an ensuite bath that has a shower over. There is a separate WC and bidet.
The top floor has 3 twin bedded rooms sharing the 6th bathroom.
In the event the apartment is rented separately, the occupants have their own private garden area and terrace with a barbeque. They also have the use of the facilities of the orangery and the swimming pool.
Coach House (sleeps 7)
The spacious Coach House has a conservatory and a living and dining area. The living room has three sofas, one of which can be made into a single bed There is a clothes washer, television with satellite reception and a VCR that plays British, American and European formatted tapes, full stereo system and telephone with intercom to the Chateau. There is a separate WC on the ground floor. The Kitchen has a large refridgerator, dishwasher, microwave, electric oven and both gas and electric cooking hobs.
On the upper level are three bedrooms, two with twin beds and the third with a queen-sized bed (English king size). The bathroom, tiled in white, has a tub and overhead shower.
The Coach House has its own private garden and patio area with a barbeque. The occupants of the Coach House have the use of the orangery and the swimming pool
The Chapel
The Gothic St Marc Chapel, is situated 40 metres from the Chateau.

The Gardens
It is enclosed and a totally private estate of sweeping lawns, fruit orchards, stands of chestnut, poplar, linden and pine trees, flower gardens trees extraordinary rose garden and lawns dappled with shade from century old.
